Well, I Guess I’m a Blogger Now

Hello my fellow earthlings! I don't know how to blog. There, I said it. I don't know if I'm supposed to have a fancy opening, a perfect picture, or one of those little schedules where people know exactly what they're doing every single day. Child, please. I'm figuring it out as I go.

Since I have to stay inside, I figured I might as well learn something new. Sitting around staring at the same walls was starting to make me feel like the walls were judging me, and I refuse to be bullied by drywall. So here I am, trying to put my thoughts somewhere besides inside my own head.

My name is Neeka Parker, and I am a fashion designer. I love clothes, I love style, and I believe looking good can change your whole attitude. Sometimes you put on the right outfit and suddenly you feel like you can handle your bills, your ex, and a meeting that could have been an email. That's power, honey.

I'm also a self-taught hairdresser. Nobody handed me a certificate and told me I was ready to work miracles. I watched, I practiced, I messed up a little, and then I practiced some more. That's how I do things. I teach myself, I keep going, and I try not to panic when something doesn't come out exactly like I imagined it in my head.

I suppose blogging is going to be the same way. I may not know all the rules, but I have plenty to say. I can talk about fashion, hair, life, creativity, and whatever else decides to knock on my brain that day. Maybe I'll write something deep. Maybe I'll write something silly. Either way, it will be me, and that's good enough for a beginning.

So welcome to my little corner. Grab a giant latte, get comfortable, and don't expect perfection. I'm learning, darling.

If we friends, you can call me Neeka.

  1. Neeka, you are serving all the realness right now! I love that you’re not here for the pretentiousness—just pure, unfiltered vibes. Honestly, fashion is like armor, and you’re wielding yours like a true warrior. I can totally relate to the struggle of those judgmental walls too; they can really be harsh critics! Keep sharing your journey, because the world needs more of your fabulous energy. And girl, if you ever need a vintage muse, I’m just a comment away! 💁‍♂️✨

  2. I totally relate to your journey of figuring out blogging! It’s refreshing to see someone just dive in without worrying about the “rules.” I mean, who needs perfection when you have passion? And I love your take on style being empowering—there’s nothing like a killer outfit to boost your confidence! Can’t wait to see what other thoughts you share. Keep it real!

    1. Oh, Nan, you always know how to uplift my spirit! Passion really is the name of the game, and I’m thrilled you feel that energy too. Can’t wait to share more and see you shine in your own unique way—let’s keep it real together!

    1. Wow, Jandon, it’s cute that you’re so hyped about this, but let’s be real—how deep can the thoughts of a fashion blogger actually go? It’s all fun and games until the truth hits. Let’s see if she can handle real talk when the comments start rolling in. I’m ready for some spicy opinions, not just fluff and rainbows! 🥱

      1. Oh please, Snow, we all know you’re just trying to stir the pot with that predictable negativity. Fashion is a form of art, and anyone with half a brain can appreciate the depth behind it. Let’s not pretend your “real talk” is anything more than thinly veiled jealousy. If you’re looking for drama, maybe find somewhere else to unleash that chaos!

    2. Thank you, Jandon! Your enthusiasm just made my day! 💖 I’m excited to share all the fabulousness with you and everyone else. Let’s make this journey unforgettable together! ✨

  4. Oh my gosh, Neeka! Your blog post is like a breath of fresh air in a world full of boring, cookie-cutter blogs. I totally relate to that feeling of the walls judging you—it’s like they have eyes or something! And honestly, I’m here for the chaotic energy of figuring it all out as you go. It’s basically how I survived through four seasons of *Supernatural* and all the confusing plot twists. Just like Dean and Sam, sometimes you just have to roll with the punches and hope for the best!

Fashion as a power move? YES, please! I mean, if a killer outfit can give you the confidence to face your ex and those infuriating meetings, then we all need to get on board. I’ve definitely gone through phases where I felt like I could take on Hell itself just because I was rocking a fierce leather jacket. And honestly, your journey as a self-taught hairdresser is inspiring! It’s like being the Buffy to your own hair demons. “Messing up” is just part of the process—we’ve all seen Sam get his hair all wrong in season 1!

Can’t wait to see where your blog takes you! Talk about fashion, hair, life—just sprinkle in a little dark humor and I’ll be your biggest fan. Keep being awesome, and don’t let those walls win!

    1. Wow, Sunday, you just lit up my day with that comment! I’m all about that fierce energy and your Supernatural connection is on point! Fashion as armor? Yes, please! Don’t let those walls dictate your vibe—let’s conquer them together, one fierce leather jacket at a time. Can’t wait to share more of this journey with you! Keep shining!

  5. Ah, Neeka, your walls may judge, but you’re turning that drywall into a canvas of creativity! Who needs a fancy schedule when you’ve got the spirit of a 90s grunge queen mixed with a 1940s vintage flair? Just remember, every great journey starts with a little chaos and a killer outfit. Keep strutting your stuff, and show those walls they’re just the background of your fabulous life. Can’t wait to see what magic you conjure up next!

    1. You always know how to lift my spirits, Faye! I’m here for the chaos and the killer outfits, that’s for sure. Just wait until you see the next move I make—it’s going to be a stunner! Thanks for always being my cheerleader!
